Kevin is the most important Paradise PD character, or is he?

When thinking about the most important Paradise PD character Kevin would usually be the first one to come to mind, but is this true?

Chief Randal Crawford is the chief of the paradise police department and is one of the most contributing members of the force. He is often at the centre of the episode and is likley the character whose personality has changed the most through the series, but is this enough to make the statement that he’s the most important character? Kevin is still the first character to even be seen on the show and will try and complete his set task to his best ability (although fails more often than he succeeds). At the start of the series Cheif’s only emotion seems to really be anger and rarely anything else  but as the series progresses he (sometimes) shows empathy and often tells a joke. Kevin however, shows these emotions all the time in the series, but this isn’t necessary a good thing, he often makes the situation worse, his jokes aren’t funny and he can’t be strict and enforce rules. Taking this into consideration, Cheif now seems like the better officer, but that’s not all. Cheif is (most of the time) focused on solving the kingpin case where Kevin will often try and help but will sometimes do his own thing, which he’ll drag Cheif into as well. Ultimately, it’s up to you, personally I think Cheif Randal Crawford is the most important character but we’ve created a question you can awnser where you select Kevin, Chief or “other” where you type in your own awnser.
